My name is McKenna Martin. I'm inspired by the timeless beauty of the natural world and the enduring grace of classical architecture, I draw from the harmonious proportions, balanced symmetry, and refined details found in both nature and ancient design principles. By blending classical forms with organic influences, I strive to craft products where form and function coexist in perfect harmony, offering both aesthetic sophistication and lasting purpose.
My Story
I started my college journey at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to become an accountant. After a year in business school, I made the decision to change directions and go to the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) for product design. Automotive design was my gateway inspiration into the feild. I loved the idea of creating designs for everyone to use and experience. I have grown since entering MIAD and have explored the many paths that you can take as a product designer. Since May of 2024, I have had the privilege of interning at Delta Faucet Company in their industrial design department. They have provided me with great opportunities to learn about prototyping and first hand experience of manufacturing. Over this past year I have developed a medical product called Hyacinth to help relieve labor pains during water birth. This product is currently undergoing a pending patient.
